Magnolia Hotshots find time to relax before 2018 Commissioner’s Cup

After a tough loss to the San Miguel Beermen in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Finals, the Magnolia Hotshots are looking to bounce back in the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup with Vernon Macklin as import. However, they don’t get to play in the elimination round until May which gives them some time off scrimmages. Thus, here’s how they took some time off before going back to the office.

Mon Jose

Assistant Coach Mon Jose spent time in Baler with his family. I hope that they enjoyed the waves there. Little Mojito Jose is undoubtedly a carbon copy of his dad.

Chito Victolero

Head Coach Chito Victolero met up with his former Mapua players Jonathan Banal, Mike Parala, and Kenneth Ighalo with their wives. Since he mentioned inaanaks, it would have been a tastier dinner if they won the title.

He may not have scored points during the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Finals but Alvin Abundo did score when her girlfriend said yes to his marriage proposal. Congratulations, Alvin!

Riego Gamalinda posts for a photo with his family. Perhaps his son has chosen the NBA champions for this season as well via his cap.

Gryann Mendoza

Gryann Mendoza posts a picture of a guitar chord chart

It seems like the former FEU Tamaraw is having some guitar lessons before the 2018 Commissioners Cup. I hope that he can also perform sweet music with his performance on the hard court.

Rodney Brondial

Rodney Brondial with wife Caryl

Bruiser Rodney Brondial spends time with his wife, Caryl. The two got married last month and they are expecting their first born, Zlatan Ezekiel. When he is conceived, I wonder if this Zlatan will also talk in the third person.

Robbie Herndon

Robbie Herndon wasted no time in preparing for the next conference by hitting the gym and channeling his Naruto spirit.

Kyle Pascual

Kyle Pascual celebrated his birthday and he thanked those who made his day special. Is June Mar Fajardo invited? Still, happy birthday Kyle!

Justin Melton

He may be injured during the Finals, but Justin Melton is ready to go back in action after spending his vacation in Australia. This visit to Bondi Beach (and perhaps the bandana too) could be part of his rehab to full strength, mate.

Peter June Simon

Veteran PJ Simon had some rest and relaxation in Singapore with girlfriend Jehza Huelar. On New Year’s Eve 2018, the Hotshots supersub surprised the 2016 Binibining Pilipinas second runner-up with a marriage proposal. After Huelar said yes, I can hear Magoo Marjon say “Bang!”

Rome De La Rosa

Versatile forward Rome De La Rosa had a great swimming time with his family. Maybe this is where he practices diving for the loose ball.

Jio Jalalon

After his first Finals stint in the PBA, Jio Jalalon got his Bachelor’s degree from Arellano University. The Cyclone puts the student back in student-athlete. Congratulations, Jio!

Rafi Reavis

Just like Melton, the Magnolia Hotshots center is taking some time off in Australia as shown in his Instagram Stories post. Finally, a place where The Kraken is not a threat.

Ian Sangalang

Ian Sangalang visited this resort in Bataan and he obliged to a photo opportunity with the staff. The Shield takes a much-deserved rest before the battles with the imports during the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup

Mark Barroca

Playmaker Mark Barocca visited the Land of the Rising Sun with his wife. Here, they pose for a photo in one of the busy streets of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It would have been a better photo if the banner said Forever 14 instead of Forever 21.

Paul Lee

Ever wonder where the Leethal Weapon gets his clothes? This photo just answered it for us. Lee also spent his vacation in Japan and he dropped by this store to pick up new additions to his wardrobe. Maybe this is the secret why he stays supreme on the basketball court.

Marc Pingris

Though he is injured, the Pinoy Sakuragi accompanies his son Mic to a basketball skills improvement session with coach Jeff Codera. It’s never too early to start developing his heir apparent. Kudos to kuya janitor as well for subtly reminding us that San Miguel nearly swept Magnolia.
